L'AMI DE MON AMIE (MY GIRLFRIEND'S BOYFRIEND) (1987)
L'ami de Mon Amie is a typical rom-com: the story of girl-loves-boy-who-loves-her-friend-who-has-a-boyfriend-who-loves-the-first-girl; where broken hearts are avoided by good-natured partner-swapping and comic misunderstandings.

L'AMOUR L'APRES-MIDI (LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON) (1972)
This film completes the six-piece 'Moral Tales' series by beloved French auteur, Eric Rohmer. L'amour l'apres-midi is a typical Rohmer film dealing with the temptation of a happily married man. Being no-frills, dialogue-driven in style, it's more an examination than a film.

LA NINA SANTA (THE HOLY GIRL) (15) (2004)
With the Almodovar brothers as Executive Producers, this second feature from up and coming Argentinian director Lucrecia Martel sounds promising enough on paper, focusing on a tight knit dysfunctional family who live and work in a hotel and the events that unfold during a medical convention based there.



LADDER 49 (2004)
Centring on the life of fire fighter Jack Morrison (Joaquin Phoenix), Ladder 49 is a well-intentioned film that reflects the public's admiration and respect for fire fighters.

LADY IN THE WATER (2006)
From writer-director M. Night Shyamalan comes Lady in the Water, a story he originally conceived for his children. In London to promote the film last week, alongside stars Paul Giamatti and Bryce Dallas Howard, the director explained the personal nature of the project.
