RUSHES SOHO SHORTS FESTIVAL

The Rushes Soho Shorts Festival (28th July to 3rd August) now celebrating it's ninth consencutive year, is open for submissions and accepting entries from film-makers. The festuval, renowned for its not-for-profit status and championing of emerging young talent, has grown dramatically with last year seeing more than 2,000 entries from film-makers around the world. 2007 also sees the addition of a Documentary category.

Joe Bateman, Festival Director, says "If you know our festival you'll be aware that the skill and talent for producing short films is something our filmmakers have in abundance, it has led the festival to become internationally recognised and this year, with the addition of the documentary category, we will be presenting the most exciting festival yet!"

Films entered consistently feature a host of recognisable names and faces including Mackenzie Crook, David Tennant, David Thewlis, Saffron Burrows, Jimi Mistry, David Soul, Patsy Palmer, Jack Dee, Phil Jupitus and Michael Sheen.

Previous Award Presenters have included Nick Moran, Graham Norton, Nic Roeg, Leslie Philips, Ray Winstone and Damian Lewis all of whom have been very supportive in raising awareness of the talented work seen during the festival week.

Rushes Soho Shorts Festival is also indebted to the work of their spokespeople who in the past have included high profile actors Bill Nighy, Ray Winstone and Charles Dance.

Rushes Soho Shorts Festival 2007 will run from 28th July to 3rd August with Awards for the Best Director in each category being presented on Thursday 2nd August.

The deadline for submitting your film is 4th May 2007.
