Britain won big last night at the stunning 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony with Slumdog Millionaire sweeping the board in 4 categories, Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score. Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road) won 2 awards for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress. Colin Farrel (In Bruges) and Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky) also took home a globe for best performances.

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be held in Hollywood on January 11, 2009, and the full list of nominees has just been unveiled, amongst which are Slumdog Millionaire, Vicky Christina Barcelona, The Wrestler, Changeling and Mamma Mia! The Movie

Especially worthy of mention are the films Slumdog Millionaire and Vicky Christina Barcelona - both up for an amazing four awards.

Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire will be competition for the top prize of Best Motion Picture – Drama, and is up against The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon, The Reader, and Revolutionary Road.

Slumdog director Danny Boyle has been nominated for the coveted Best Director – Motion Picture award, with writer Simon Beaufoy up for Best Screenplay – Motion Picture, and the film is also in contention for Best Original Score – Motion Picture.

Vicky Christina Barcelona has been nominated for Best Motion Picture – Comedy Or Musical, up against the feel-good Abba extravaganza Mamma Mia! Similarly, Rebecca Hall is battling it out with Meryl Streep's Mamma Mia! role for Best Performance By An Actress In A Motion Picture – Comedy Or Musical, and co-star Javier Bardem is in contention for Best Performance By An Actor In A Motion Picture – Comedy Or Musical. Penelope Cruz has also been nominated for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture award.
