SECRET CINEMA

FUTURE CINEMA will host the latest SECRET CINEMA screening in association with Nokia at an undisclosed location in LONDON on Friday 3rd October 2008.

SECRET CINEMA is a groundbreaking concept that offers an exciting and unique cinematic experience to film fans in the UK. The locations of the screenings are only revealed the morning of the event to those who have signed up at www.secretcinema.org.

For those lucky enough to get tickets SECRET CINEMA and NOKIA will treat audiences to the full cinematic experience, colouring the secret screenings with live rescores and special guests ranging from installation artists to musicians and performers.

The concept was launched last year and already has a cult following with over 35,000 cinematic thrill seekers signed up to the mailing list and the largest Facebook film group in Europe with over 10,000 members.

The secret locations will vary hugely with each film and could be anything from derelict theatres to city rooftops whilst the films will vary from exclusive previews to cult classics. Following the London event, SECRET CINEMA will host further screenings in London, Bristol, Manchester and Brighton. Previous events have included an exclusive preview of Gus Van Saint's 'Paranoid Park' in a disused railway tunnel in South London and a screening at Dulwich College of the 60s classic 'If....'






FUTURE SHORTS ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF 'SECRET CINEMA' ON 19TH DECEMBER AT AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION IN LONDON

Future Shorts and Future Cinema are proud to announce the launch of SECRET CINEMA. This groundbreaking event aims to put the mystery and excitement back into cinema through hosting secret monthly screenings of films shown at individually themed locations to create a live cinematic experience that will incorporate surprise rescores, special guests and live installations.
 
Taking place across 6 cities throughout the UK, the location of the screening will be revealed on the morning of the event to those who have signed up to www.secretcinema.org and a clue will be given about what film will be shown. The location will vary hugely with each film and could be anything from derelict theatres, rooftops, parks or other varied locations whilst the films will vary from special previews to classics and cult favourites.

Following the launch event on 16th December in London, SECRET CINEMA will host monthly events in London, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast from February 2008.
 



Future Shorts give filmmakers the chance to have their work shown on the largest international platform, and provide audiences worldwide with an original and inventive slate of films every month. Future Shorts also operates as a distributor and short film consultant, as well as producing large-scale cinematic extravaganzas through Future Cinema. They will be releasing a feature-length DVD of short films in spring 2008.
 
Now running regular events in 23 countries, Future Shorts has recently launched short film channels on both Joost, the free online television platform www.futureshorts.com/joost and youtube www.youtube.com/user/futureshorts
